Resin trap also named resin catcher, media trap, it is a set of fittings consisting of pipe housing and resin trap screen. Resin trap wedge wire screen is providing security in case of catastrophic failure of your media beds. Generally, resin trap screen is flanged at the bottom of sand filter tank or mixed bed, and protected by mostly stainless steel housing or plastic housing.
When the resin or media passes by, it can be intercepted and captured by the wedge wire filter screens. At the same time, the captured resin or media can be discharged out of the system by flushing automatically through the differential pressure between front and rear installed near the outlet of the water system line.
